Amara Wagner

First and foremost, I am a holistic and fiercely intuitive mama to two children, Sam and Emmie. Being their mommy is the most important and gratifying job I’ve ever had and, by far, the hardest.

Although I consider myself “extra crunchy”, I’m far from perfect. We sometimes eat junk food. Rarely a day goes by that I don’t eat chocolate. I don’t always speak in a gentle voice. I’ve been called a “closet hippy” because I love my essential oils, affirmation cards, and kale chips, but I’m also a modern suburban mama. I do the best I can and keep my sense of humor.

I’ve been told time and time again, by my clients, that I have a gift for seeing, and reflecting back a woman’s intuition, which helps her develop her own awareness of it for herself. My ability to see a woman so fully, allows her to see herself, sometimes for the first time, and all the things that make her beautiful and strong and powerful. When I work with a mother and reflect back the intuition and wisdom that she has, she begins to trust this wisest version of herself. Only when there is an awareness of your intuition, how it shows up, what it looks like, and how it speaks to you, can it be strengthened.

I believe that motherhood can be part of a spiritual journey, and the more you practice tuning into your mother’s intuition, and trusting it, the less intimidated and fearful you’ll feel when something comes up (and stuff always comes up!) I teach the women I work with to get to know their bodies, and to deeply nourish themselves, and to pay attention to her emotions, because they are all connected to your health. I guide moms to see what’s really going on, underneath the symptoms, and I help them connect the dots. I feel strongly that simply collecting more knowledge about holistic health and natural remedies, without the intuition piece, will leave you overwhelmed. Learning to rely on your intuition is like working a muscle that you’ve neglected (similar to your pelvic floor muscles!) First you have to learn what it feels like (yes, everyone has intuition, just like everyone has pelvic floor muscles) and then you learn to use it properly and regularly. Without an understanding of your own intuition, you give your power away to “experts” (your mother, your pediatrician, google, your mommy friends, your Facebook groups) to tell you what to do. When you give your power away, you wind up in a cycle of overwhelm, guilt and doubt. Going through life feeling overwhelmed, guilt-ridden and doubting yourself literally robs yourself of some of the most valuable, powerful and sacred experiences of motherhood.
