Hi, I’m Amara.

My clients often share what they love most about working with me is that I’m real. I’ve been in the holistic health and integrative nutrition world for more than half my life, I’m also far from “perfect.” We sometimes eat crappy food, and sometimes it’s more than sometimes (I try to follow the 80/20 rule). I’ve been called a “closet hippy” because I love my essential oils, Bach Flower remedies, affirmation cards, and kale chips, but I’m also a modern suburban mama who has worked in a corporate setting and I am very active in my local community. I strongly believe that being well nourished is more than the food we eat and I do the best I can and have a sense of humor, practice gratitude and keep it honest. My children are now teenagers and being their mother is the most important and gratifying job I’ve ever had. It is also, by far, the hardest.

I am a total FOODIE.

Before opening my practice as an integrative Health Coach (almost twenty years ago!) I worked for Bon Appétit magazine (it was as fun as it sounds!!) I still love cooking, eating and sharing food with friends and family, in fact, most of our vacations are planned around visiting amazing food markets, restaurants and exploring new food experiences. Thankfully my family shares this love too!

I LOVE sharing my passions with my clients.

I am blessed to work with some of the most incredible women in the world. Many of the moms I work with are health professionals themselves—I’ve worked with coaches, midwives, doulas, chiropractors, therapists, doctors, etc., AND some of my clients are brand new to the wellness world, just starting on a path of discovering how wonderful it feels to nourish ourselves holistically. I love working with mothers in groups and one-on-one.

One of my first clients that I worked with very early on in my practice didn’t know how to cook at all. She grew up in a family where food came from a can or was microwaved in the freezer. She felt intimidated but I assured her that we would start slowly. I began by helping her get comfortable with choosing working with, and eating a few fresh vegetables and it made a HUGE difference in how she felt physically.
